Intending to highlight the city's many food cultures by featuring different cuisines, promoting local flavors, and encouraging locals and tourists to have new culinary experiences. Tastebud in CDO aims to develop a feeling of community among people, highlighting various cuisines while also promoting awareness for the region's rich culinary heritage.


The adventurers attended the annual Kagay-anon Festival, held at Boulevard, where they indulged in a variety of famous local dishes. From crispy potato curls to refreshing drinks, they experienced the vibrant flavors of the region. This festival, celebrated every August, showcases the rich culinary heritage and community spirit of Cagayan de Oro. The atmosphere was lively, with numerous stalls offering an array of delicious treats, making it a memorable occasion for all who participated.

          In the neighboring Municipality of Malanang, Opol, Misamis Oriental, about 20 minutes from Cagayan de Oro City, lies a hidden gem for food lovers and nature enthusiasts alike: The Viewpoint Resort Cafe and Resto. As a food photographer and avid foodie, I was recently commissioned to take photos of their menu and some amenities, and there, I fell in love. My first experience of this resort was just before they opened in May 2023. While the drive going to the resort was smooth, leading towards it’s location when you get to Opol public market was somehow a challenge.
